Hey all! Writing to you safe and sound from BC. We got back this afternoon and now that it’s all said and done it’s safe to say we had a pretty incredible time. Here’s what we were up to in the Empire State:

After a day of R&R in New Jersey, we made our way to the O’Hara abode in Long Island on Thursday night. We had a great time there, props to Sean’s family for housing us! The following morning we performed at the Morgan Center in Long Island, a preschool for

children who have cancer. We got a tour of the facility and performed for the children and their parents, and then got to spend some time with them. We really really enjoyed singing and visiting with you all.

From the Morgan Center we proceeded to the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital where we performed our set both on stage and in individual patient rooms. This was yet another fantastic experience that we are so grateful for. Thanks so much to the Morgan Center for and to

Stix at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital

Morgan Stanley Children’s for having us; these visits were some of the most memorable parts of our tour.

Later that afternoon we sang a little and played around on the streets of

New York before heading to the Parra residence in New Jersey for the night. We want to thank them for their hospitality (complete with authentic Italian fare! Yum!).

The next morning we left Jersey bound for upstate New York, where we performed at Bard College with the Orcapelicans and Time Check (from Marist College). We had a really awesome time performing with them, and there couldn’t have been a better way to spend our last night of tour. Thanks for the Orcapelicans for housing us!

And that brings us back to today, which, after a few more hours in our now beloved RV, brought us back home to Boston College. We had a killer time on tour and definitely would not have spent our spring break any other way! Thanks so so so much to everyone who made this a possibility for us; we love you!

That’s all for now! See you all at Cafe in a few weeks! (March 31st! Be there or be trapezoidal!)

We just wrapped up our stay in Philadelphia and it was wonderful. We arrived yesterday afternoon and sang at the Ronald McDonald House of Philadelphia. It’s a wonderful home and we had a really good time. After that we sang and dined at the home of Jungekurths, Megan’s (’15) grandparents. They were lovely and we were so happy to meet them and sing. We performed Megan’s new song, Cowboy Casanova, for the first time yesterday! Yay!

Street singing at Independence Hall in Philadelphia

This morning we sang at Independence Hall and did some sightseeing, which included the Liberty Bell (it was already broken, we promise), Philly cheese steaks, and a lot of city wandering on a seriously gorgeous day.

Now we are in New Jersey at the McGuire family home (Max’s house!) for the night. Big big big thanks to them and to the Jungekeurths for hosting us! Tomorrow we move into New York, our final city of the tour! Expect another update in a few days about the adventures we’re sure to have en la Gran Manzana!

We pulled out of BC in our lovely little RV on Saturday morning bright and early. We made

it down to D.C. with time to spare for our first show of the week with American University’s ‘On A Sensual Note.’ They were a ton of fun to watch and to hang out with! Big ups to them for hosting us and housing us that night. Check them out here.

The next morning we visited the Holocaust Museum which was a wonderful and moving experience. After that we headed back to American for ‘A Cappella for Life,’ a show hosted by AU’s ‘Dime A Dozen.’ Also performing were ‘Treble in Paradise,’ ‘Blends with Benefits,’ two other American groups, and Bryn Mawr’s ‘Extreme Keys,’ who also performed the night prior with OASN.

The show was a lot of fun and we were happy to be a part of a show for such a great cause. That night we stayed at the lovely abode of a former Acoustic, Justin. Thanks a lot for letting us crash/sing loudly to your neighbors!

That brings us back to the present. We’re all currently museum-hopping and see-sighting, and later this evening we will be performing at the End the R-Word Concert presented by GWU’s Pi Kappa Phi chapter. There are going to be a lot of performers and we are really excited!

Tomorrow morning we roll out to Philadelphia. We’ll catch up with you again once we’re in the City of Brotherly Luuuuuuv.

It was a wonderful experience that we were lucky to be a part of. Thank you to everyone who helped put it on. We really enjoyed ourselves.

For those of you who have not experienced a Relay for Life event, we really recommend getting involved. 3.5 million Americans participate in Relay around the country every year, and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society and their search for the cure. Get more info about Relay for Life here.

Hey all! This is the pilot blog post of our new and improved Stix website! Yay! We’ll be posting a whole lot more lately to let you guys know what we’re up to and keep you in the loop with the muzik.

Currently we’re gearing up to go on our first TOUR in five years! Starting next weekend we’ll be rolling through D.C., Philly & NYC singing and (wreaking a manageable amount of) havoc. We are so excited about all the groups and venues with/at which we’re scheduled to perform. Expect pictures and gushing in the next few weeks!

We’ve got a lot of things going on between now and tour as well. This Friday we will be performing at Relay for Life and this Sunday we are performing at a Best Buddies fundraiser, both of which we are thrilled about.

Songwise, we’ve been busy arranging three songs for our freshman girls (the epic Adele hit “Set Fire To The Rain,” badass “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morisette, and country killa “Cowboy Casanova” by Carrie Underwood) and learning a sick Rihanna medley. Look out for any/all of these at our upcoming shows!

For now, have fun perusing our new site. And don’t forget to check back here for updates on whats going on in the Acoustiworld.
